DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN Star Wilson Bethel Teases a More Comic-Accurate Bullseye in Season 3

Fans of Daredevil: Born Again have been watching Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter evolve in some pretty interesting ways, and it sounds like the next chapter is going to push him even closer to the version comic readers know all too well.

With season 2 now wrapped on Disney+, the finale left Bullseye heading out of New York under the employ of the mysterious Mr. Charles, stepping into a shadowy government role that used to belong to Luke Cage.

Cage, for his part, has walked away from that life to reunite with Jessica Jones and their daughter. That shift sets the stage for something new and potentially dangerous for Dex heading into Season 3.

Wilson Bethel recently opened up about where the character might be headed, and it sounds like we’re about to see a version of Bullseye that leans harder into his comic book roots.

"The past now being behind him in the way it is, I think it opens up a whole slew of interesting new storytelling possibilities," Bethel told The Direct.

"Especially for those who are excited to see some version of Bullseye that resembles the comic book version a little bit more, because maybe he's just a fucking mean ass gun for hire right now, and there are a lot worse ways to experience Bullseye."

That’s a big shift from how Season 2 portrayed him. This time around, Dex operated in a strange gray zone, driven largely by revenge against Wilson Fisk after Vanessa’s role in Foggy’s death came to light. He wasn’t exactly a hero, but he wasn’t completely off the rails either.

Season 3 doesn’t sound like it’s going to keep him in that middle ground. Bethel said that Bullseye’s unpredictability is one of the character’s most compelling traits, and it’s something the show is leaning into even more moving forward.

"One of the things that's so much fun to play with this character is that there is a certain kind of capriciousness to where his mind or his emotions might be at. This is a deeply unstable person, right?" Bethel added.

"And if you take people with mental illness of one kind or another, they can go some pretty different directions, wholeheartedly, with a very full set of beliefs in those different directions at any given moment.

“And it's one of the things that's super cool about this character, just because he's one way right now at the end of season 2, don't expect him to be there at the beginning of season 3."

That unpredictability could be exactly what pushes Bullseye into full-on villain territory again, especially if he’s operating as a hired weapon with fewer personal ties holding him back.

All episodes of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 are now streaming, and Season 3 is currently set to premiere in March 2027. If Bethel’s comments are anything to go by, things are about to get a lot more dangerous for anyone who crosses Bullseye’s path.
