Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour Reunite for New Netflix Spy Series From ADOLESCENCE Co-Creator Jack Thorne

Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbourare officially teaming up again for an untitled father-daughter spy thriller that has received a straight-to-series order from Netflix. The project comes from Jack Thorne, the co-creator of Adolescence, with A24 producing alongside studio-based producer Joe Hipps.

Brown and Harbour built one of the most memorable relationships in Stranger Things as Eleven and Jim Hopper, and now they'll be playing another father and daughter, although this time their lives are a lot more complicated.

The series is loosely inspired by Paul Warner's debut novel A Spy In the Blood and centers on Matt Wolfe, played by Harbour, a disgraced FBI agent who left that world behind to become a security expert.

His quiet life is shattered when his estranged daughter Rebecca, played by Brown, disappears during an FBI mission. Rebecca followed in her father's footsteps by becoming an FBI agent herself, forcing Matt back into a dangerous profession that has changed dramatically since he walked away.

Brown is also reuniting with Thorne, who previously wrote Netflix's Enola Holmes films. Brown not only stars in that franchise but also serves as a producer.

Netflix Head of Scripted Series for the U.S. and Canada shared their excitement about bringing the series together, saying:

"We are delighted to bring this spy drama to life with an extraordinary group of talent we’ve been fortunate to collaborate with before. Jack Thorne’s ability to find the deeply human story inside a thriller is unmatched, and watching Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour reunite — this time as estranged father and daughter on opposite sides of a crisis — is something audiences are going to love. A24 is the perfect partner to bring this story to our members around the world."

Brown recently teased the reunion, revealing that Harbour deserves the credit for making it happen. “Father-daughter is where we live, but Netflix will always be our home,” she said. “The David Harbour project is sooner than expected, and it’s David’s idea, so kudos to him.”

Harbour also recently hinted that another collaboration was on the way, saying: “You’ll see more of me and Millie. 10 years wasn’t enough. There is a special bond there. I love her, she loves me.”

The reunion is especially nice to see after both actors previously acknowledged there had been some friction while making Stranger Things, though neither has ever shared details about what happened.

Brown continues to be one of Netflix's biggest stars following her breakout performance as Eleven. Along with the Enola Holmes franchise, she's headlined Damsel and The Electric State, with the upcoming romantic feature Just Picture It also on the way, which she stars in and produces.

Harbour, meanwhile, recently wrapped his run as Hopper with the fifth and final season of Stranger Things. He can be seen in HBO's DTF St. Louis alongside Jason Bateman and Linda Cardellini, as well as the upcomingAvengers: Doomsday, where he'll return as Red Guardian. He's also set to appear in Violent Night 2 and John Rambo.

Thorne remains one of television's busiest writers after the worldwide success of Adolescence. Netflix has also picked up his limited series adaptation of Lord of the Flies, while he has a Claus Von Bülow limited series awaiting a decision at Apple TV.

On top of that, he co-wrote Sam Mendes' ambitious The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event and has multiple feature films currently in development.

While there's no premiere date yet, pairing Brown and Harbour together again is sure to make Stranger Things fans happy. Their chemistry was a huge part of what made Stranger Things so memorable, and watching them step into a high-stakes espionage thriller should make for a very different, but entertaining, father-daughter story.
