STAR WARS: ZERO COMPANY Final Trailer Sends a Ragtag Squad Into the Clone Wars

by · GeekTyrant

The Clone Wars are about to get tactical. EA has released the final trailer forStar Wars: Zero Company, giving fans a closer look at the desperate campaign, dangerous characters, and squad-based combat waiting when the game launches later this month.

Developed by Bit Reactor, Star Wars: Zero Company takes the franchise into turn-based squad tactics for the first time. The Clone Wars setting already feels like a natural fit for this kind of game, with small teams being thrown into battles where positioning, abilities, and smart decisions can determine who walks away.

Interestingly, the developers also found inspiration outside of Star Wars. The AMC historical drama Turn helped influence the game, which should give you an idea of the espionage, shifting loyalties, and wartime tension Bit Reactor is aiming for.

Players step into the boots of Officer Hawks, a former Republic officer who brings together a ragtag crew to take on missions across the galaxy. This isn’t a polished squad of identical soldiers either.

Zero Company is made up of fighters with very different backgrounds and skills, including clone trooper Trick, Jedi Padawan Tel-Rea Vokoss, Mandalorian Cly Kullervo, Felshi Kabb Uppercut, and several other operators.

The new trailer puts more emphasis on the story and its characters while introducing one of the major threats standing in their way. Kundri Fathom leads the Infinite Coil, a cult aligned with the Separatists, and he has seized control of the volcanic planet Luunata for his mining operation.

That puts Luunata directly in Zero Company’s sights. Hawks and the crew are tasked with liberating the planet, and judging from the footage, they’re prepared to get the job done however they can.

The gameplay shown throughout the trailer offers a taste of the different tactical options available during missions. Players won’t be locked into one approach, and each member of the squad brings something different to a fight. Yes, that includes getting to play around with some very cool Mandalorian tools.

There’s quite a bit of flexibility built into the operators as well. Every character falls under one of eight specializations, with three special abilities tied to each one. Building a squad around complementary skills should be a major part of surviving the increasingly dangerous missions thrown at Zero Company.

When you aren’t fighting Separatists or dealing with cult leaders on volcanic worlds, you’ll return to the Den. This hideout serves as Zero Company’s home between missions and can be customized as the campaign progresses. It sounds like a nice way to make the squad feel like an actual crew rather than a collection of units being shuffled around a tactical map.

The final trailer shows that Bit Reactor isn’t simply using the Clone Wars as an excuse for tactical battles. The studio is building an original story inside the era, centered on a new group of characters caught in another ugly corner of the conflict.

The Clone Wars have always provided plenty of room for stories about soldiers, Jedi, mercenaries, and people trapped between the Republic and Separatists, and Zero Company looks ready to dig into that territory.

Star Wars: Zero Company is available to pre-order now. The Standard Edition is priced at $49.99 on PC and $59.99 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The game launches August 27, 2026.
