INVINCIBLE Renewed for Season 6 at Prime Video and Jack Quaid Joins Season 5

Prime Video has officially renewed the hit animated superhero seriesInvinciblefor Season 6, and the announcement comes long before Season 5 has even made its debut.

The renewal is another major milestone for the series, which has become one of Prime Video’s biggest success stories. It also puts Invincible in rare company, as it now matches the run of Netflix’s acclaimed animated series BoJack Horseman, making it one of the longest-running animated originals on a streaming platform.

Based on the comic book series created by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and later joined by contributing creator Ryan Ottley, Invincible follows teenager Mark Grayson, a human-alien hybrid who develops superpowers and takes on the mantle of the superhero Invincible while learning from his father, Nolan Grayson, better known as Omni-Man.

The adaptation, which features an all-star voice cast including J.K. Simmons, Sandra Oh, and Steven Yeun, has continued to build momentum with every season. According to producer Skybound Entertainment, Season 4 recently wrapped production and became the show's most-watched season so far, landing in the Top 10 across more than 50 territories worldwide.

That success has helped pave the way for the newly announced sixth season, ensuring that Prime Video’s blood-soaked superhero epic has plenty of life left in it.

Season 5 is scheduled to arrive next year, and Kirkman revealed during the Annecy International Animation Festival that Jack Quaid is joining the voice cast. Attendees at the festival were treated to an exclusive first look at Quaid’s character along with a preview clip shown during the event.

The series has also become a social media powerhouse. Skybound reports that Invincible has generated more than 7 billion views on TikTok, a reflection of how deeply the show has connected with audiences beyond the comic book community.

During his appearance at Annecy, Kirkman also shared an interesting piece of Invincible history. Before the animated series became a global hit, he had once been developing an Invincible movie script for Universal Pictures.

Looking back on that version of the project, Kirkman didn’t hold back, describing the screenplay as “absolutely horrible.” Thankfully for fans, the animated adaptation ultimately became the version that made it to screens.

With 146 comic book issues and over 6 million copies sold during its 15-year run with Image Comics, the source material still offers a massive amount of story for the creative team to explore. That means Season 6 likely won't be the end of Mark Grayson’s journey.

Speaking about the renewal, Kirkman said: “One of the biggest rewards of building Invincible over the years has been witnessing how new audiences continue to connect with these characters and this world, almost 25 years after its creation.

“This renewal is as much a testament to the passion of our fans as it is to the talented teams bringing the series to life, including longtime supervising directors Shaun O’Neill and Dan Duncan, who have done so much behind the scenes to make Invincible a success, and will now help us continue to grow as executive producers.

“There’s still so much story left to tell, and I can’t wait for fans to see what’s ahead in seasons 5, 6 and beyond.”

With Season 5 on the horizon and Season 6 already locked in, Prime Video clearly has a lot of confidence in Invincible.
