Ballon d’Or 2026: ‘He’s a phenomenon’ – Brighton’s Luka Vušković picks player to win award

Brighton defender, Luka Vušković, has picked the player to win the Ballon d’Or this month.

The winner of the 2026 Ballon d’Or will be announced later this month in London, England.

Speaking recently after Croatia’s UEFA Nations League defeat to Spain, Vušković picked Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal as the player to win the Ballon d’Or.

The Croatia international described the Spain winger as a phenomenal player.

“Ballon D’Or? For me, Lamine Yamal. He’s a phenomenon, I don’t have anything else to say,” Vušković said via BarçaTimes.

“You saw him against us in the last match. It’s an honour to play against such a player.”
