We didn’t play good game – Lionel Scaloni criticizes Argentina players after win over Mauritania

Argentina head coach, Lionel Scaloni, has criticized his team following his side’s friendly 2-1 win against Mauritania on Friday.

Scaloni insisted that his players didn’t play a good game against Mauritania and were not at their level during the encounter.

Two goals from Enzo Fernández and Nicolás Paz gave the World Cup champions the victory against the African opponent at La Bombonera in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Argentina captain Lionel Messi started from the bench, but failed to score when he was introduced in the second half during the encounter.

Speaking at his post-match after the game, Scaloni said (via Fabrizio Romano): “We did not play a good game. We were not at our level.

“We have to admit that, and we have to improve,” he said.

Argentina will now face another African team, Zambia, in their next friendly match on Wednesday.
