Ronaldo was on the scoresheet as Portugal came from a goal down to beat Croatia 2-1 last night.
His teammate, Gonçalo Ramos also scored for Portugal against Croatia as Roberto Martinez’s side progressed to the Round of 16, where they will face Spain.
After the match, Ronaldo delivered an emotional post-match message dedicating the victory to the late Diogo Jota, who passed away last year.
The 41-year-old honored his former teammate by donning Jota’s iconic number 21 jersey during the post-match.
The Al-Nassr forward took to his official X account to publish a photo of the entire Portugal contingent, players, coaching staff, and federation officials alike, gathered on the pitch, with Ronaldo front and center, holding Jota’s No. 21 shirt alongside a message, “We won for ourselves, for Diogo, and for Portugal!!! LET’S GO!!!!.”
