‘Our father, we are grateful’ – Rescued Oyo schoolchildren, teachers thank Tinubu [VIDEO]
by Matthew Atungwu · Daily PostRescued schoolchildren and teachers who who were kidnapped from Oriire Local Government Area of the state of Oyo State have expressed gratitude to president Bola Tinubu over his efforts that ensured their freedom.
DAILY POST reports that the schoolchildren and teachers were rescued on Tuesday after over 50 days in captivity.
Recall that they were whisked away on May 15, 2026, and nfortunately, one of the teachers was later beheaded shortly after the attack, heightening fears for the remaining hostages.
“Our father, we are grateful. The president sir, we understand your commitment to our safety and we appreciate all that you did for us.
“Thank you very much our security operatives. They tried so much and abd that is why we are still alive today,” one of the teachers said.
