Panic as fire breaks out at Bono Energy Terminal in Lagos
by Vanessa Onah · Daily PostResidents and workers at the Bono Energy Terminal in the Coconut area of Olodi Apapa, Lagos, are currently dealing with fear after a fire broke out in the facility, prompting an emergency response by the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, LSFRS.
The fire occurred at the fuel terminal along the Apapa-Oworonshoki Expressway, Lagos with the cause yet to be determined as of the time of filing this report.
According to the LSFRS, firefighters were on the ground battling the blaze and working to prevent it from spreading to adjoining facilities.
“The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service is currently curbing a fire explosion at Bono Energy Terminal on Apapa-Oworonshoki Expressway, by Coconut, Olodi Apapa, Lagos. Update to follow,” Mr Amodu said
A video obtained by DAILY POST shows officials of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service in an effort to bring it under control with residents running to safety.
No casualties had been reported.
