2026 Ballon d’Or: Mourinho names Real Madrid player that deserves award

Real Madrid manager, Jose Mourinho, has claimed that Kylian Mbappe deserves to win this year’s Ballon d’Or.

Mourinho, speaking ahead of Sunday’s LaLiga fixture against Malaga, also boasted that he had the best players in the world in his squad.

“The best players in the world, there are two, three or four of them, and we know who they are: they’re here.

“And for me, there is one who, individually, made history this summer,” Mourinho said, referring to Mbappe.

Mbappe became the all-time leading scorer in World Cup history during this year’s tournament.

The France captain is among the contenders for the 2026 Ballon d’Or after finishing last season as the top scorer in LaLiga, the Champions League and the 2026 World Cup, despite failing to win a major trophy.
