The Nigeria Police Force has arrested six suspected kidnappers linked to multiple abduction cases in Kaduna State.

Some victims of the kidnapping incidents have also been rescued.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer Anthony Okon Placid, on May 5 2026, and shared on the official X account of the Force.

Those arrested include Yusuf Shuaibu 23year old, Abubakar Bature 19, Yau Murtala, Bello Suleiman 19, Abdul Kareem Nuhu 36 and Ahmed Musa 28year old. They were picked up on April 3 during an operation carried out by the Force Intelligence Department Special Tactical Squad.

Investigators say the group operates around Kaduna and nearby areas, with links to camps in Rijana Forest.

Findings also connect them to several kidnapping incidents, including the abduction of a senior police officer and his son in October 2025.

“Despite collecting a ransom of N24 million the victims were not released until police operatives intervened, leading to the successful rescue of the officer’s son unharmed,” the statement said.

Efforts are still ongoing to rescue the officer.

The suspects were further linked to another case involving a young child and members of the same family. In that incident, a ransom of Eighteen Million Naira was reportedly collected before the victims were later rescued.

Police said operations are still in progress to track down other members of the syndicate, recover weapons, and rescue those still in captivity.
