Police launch manhunt for abductors of Kebbi High Court judge

Kebbi State Police Command has launched a coordinated manhunt for the abductors of a Kebbi State High Court judge, Justice Faruku Hassan Bunza, following his abduction by suspected bandits in Bunza Local Government Area of the state.
DAILY POST had earlier reported that the judge was kidnapped after armed men stormed his residence along Zogirma Road in Bunza shortly after he returned from a trip to Sokoto State.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Kebbi State Command, SP Bashir Usman, said the Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Muhammad Hadejia, immediately deployed tactical and intelligence operatives to ensure the judge’s safe rescue.

“I can confirm that Hon. Justice Faruku Hassan Bunza was abducted from his residence in Bunza around midnight. Upon receiving the report, the Commissioner of Police immediately deployed tactical and intelligence operatives to ensure his safe rescue,” Usman said.

He added that security operatives had commenced a coordinated manhunt for the perpetrators, with tactical teams combing suspected hideouts and surrounding forest areas as part of ongoing rescue efforts.

According to the police spokesperson, the command is working closely with other security agencies to secure the judge’s release unharmed and bring those responsible for the abduction to justice.

The command urged residents to remain calm and provide credible information that could assist ongoing operations, assuring the public that every effort was being made to rescue the judge safely.

As of the time of filing this report, no group had claimed responsibility for the abduction, while investigations into the incident were ongoing.
