2026 World Cup: FIFA bans four Argentina players over clash after Spain final

FIFA have announced suspensions for Argentine and  Spanish players following the melee that occurred after the 2026 World Cup final.

They include Albiceleste quartet of Nahuel Molina, Leandro Paredes, Thiago Almada and Roberto Ayala.

La Roja’s Gavi also got a one-game ban and a $30,000 fine.

Football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, wrote on X: “OFFICIAL: FIFA suspensions following post Argentina-Spain clash, including 10 games ban for Paredes, 7 for Nahuel Molina and 1 for Pablo Gavi.

“Paredes: 10-game ban + $90,000 fine

“Molina: 7-game ban + $90,000 fine

“Almada: 1-game ban + $30,000 fine

“Ayala: 3-game ban + $30,000 fine

“Gavi: 1-game ban + $30,000 fine

“Suspensions are confirmed to be for the national team games.”

Following the World Cup final, cameras captured Molina involved in an altercation with Rodri, before capturing Paredes’ attack on Eric Garcia and Gavi.

Paredes also grabbed Garcia by the throat before shoving Gavi to the ground.

The investigation also indicted Almada and Gavi, who appeared to have struck Paredes during the fracas.
