Six dead, 12 injured in Kwara road accident
by Hadiza Musa · Daily PostSix passengers have been confirmed dead, while 12 others sustained injuries in a tragic road accident along the Okolowo–Jebba expressway in Kwara State.
The incident was disclosed in a post shared on X on Friday by security analyst Zagazola Makama.
According to the post, the crash occurred in the early hours of Thursday, around 6 am, near the Danjuma Bakery area. It involved a Toyota Hummer bus carrying 18 passengers and a stationary truck.
“The bus, which was travelling from Lagos to Katsina, reportedly rammed into the parked truck along the highway.
“The impact of the collision led to the death of six passengers on the spot, while 12 others suffered varying degrees of injuries,” Makama wrote.
The injured victims were rushed to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital in Oke-Oyi, where they are currently receiving treatment. The bodies of the deceased were deposited at the hospital morgue.
The truck involved in the crash was said to be driven by Kamarudeen Abdullahi, a resident of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Authorities have since launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
