Woman arrested in connection with 2008 murder of Andrew Burns in Donegal released without charge
by Press Association, https://www.thejournal.ie/author/press-association/ · TheJournal.ieA WOMAN IN her 60s who was arrested in relation to the murder of a man in Co Donegal nearly 20 years ago has been released without charge.
Andrew Burns (27) was murdered at Donnyloop in Castlefin on 12 February, 2008.
He received a number of gunshot wounds and was later found on a road close to Donnyloop Church.
He was pronounced dead shortly before 8pm.

One person has been convicted of his murder and is serving a life sentence, but gardaí have previously said they believe that a number of people were involved.
Yesterday evening, gardaí arrested a woman in her 60s as part of their investigation into Burns’s murder.
She has since been released and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Gardaí continue to appeal to anyone with any information to come forward, in particular, the occupant or occupants of a red van that is believed to have been in the Donnyloop area at around 7pm on the evening Burns was murdered.
