Something for the Weekend – 19/09/26

This month has been racing along with so many big games launching and barely enough time for even the most gluttonous of gamers to try them all out. It will be a little while before the dust settles for all these GTA avoiders, before we see the winners and the losers, but hopefully there’s more of the former than the latter.

In the News This Week

Let’s get into this week’s news:

Games in Review & Featured Articles

There were two of the biggest games of this hurried release season on the review docket this week:

Away from the reviews, I went hands on with The Expanse: Osiris Reborn, another of the potential heirs to Mass Effect’s place in the sci-fi RPG genre. Then went micro and played Kingdom III: Rising Realms for the latest evolution of the side-scrolling strategy series.

Nick P had a horror two-fer, with Kumarn: The Wandering Spirit and the hotly anticipated Alien: Isolation 2, and Nic B had a go with Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance (and the Switch 2 port).

We wrap up with What We Played featuring Control Resonant and Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave.
