Stage Tour lays out its route map, including DLC plans before its December launch

There are few upcoming games that stir quite the same excitement in my brain as Stage Tour. Yes, even more so than Grand Theft Auto 6 and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. A lot of that is because I’ve spent half my life working my way through every song humanly possible across the Guitar Hero and Rock Band catalogue, and the idea that we’re going to get a brand new spiritual successor, alongside some brand new songs, has my fingers itching for brightly coloured plastic frets.

While Stage Tour stays on track for a December 10th launch, the team at RedOctane Games are drip feeding information along the way, like a series of coloured dots on a virtual fretboard, making their way towards you. This time out, they’ve set in place exactly what they’re going to be doing once the game has launched, and what new material players can expect to find in the coming months.

  • At launch, there will be 90+ songs to get stuck into, multiple ways to play, plus extensive unlockable bandmates and instruments.
  • The team are planning four new major content expansions to the title every year, embellishing the base game with new music, characters, experiences and customisation options, such as outfits and in-game experiences.
  • Just as you’re used to, song packs and individual titles will be available separately. Extra tracks will remain available for purchase throughout their respective licensing periods, which are typically 10 years, and there’s no plan to release time-limited content where songs appear and disappear before you’ve had a chance to reach for your wallet – players will also be able to build their music libraries at their own pace.

In addition to the extensive evolution and update information shared in their blog post, the RedOctane team has given an update on hardware and shipping, detailing everything you need to know about getting the controllers into your hands so you can start your gaming musical career.

  • The estimated shipping window for pre-orders is currently December 1st to December 10th. This is the date that orders will leave the warehouse, not necessarily the date that the kit will arrive, so keen Stage Tour rockstars will need to keep an eye on their emails for more detailed information about delivery.
  • Drum kits and band bundles have been very popular so new pre-orders for these will be shipped between December 11th to December 31st. The team will be working tirelessly behind the scenes to get the controllers into everyone’s hands as soon as they can, and more hardware is on the way! With that in mind, pre-orders are still open for a few more weeks, so if you want to be among the first to get your hands on this amazing kit, head to the Stage Tour Store.
  • The team is currently exploring opportunities to expand retail availability into regions they don’t currently ship to directly through their website, including Brazil and other parts of South America – updates will be announced as soon as there is news.

If you’re looking for more news about the music, the next setlist reveal will be on November 4th. Mark your calendars (and don’t forget that the game itself will be launching on December 10 on PC and consoles).
