EA has dropped the gameplay trailer for Battlefield 6 Season 3, ahead of its arrival on 12th May. Check out the remade maps coming this season, the new weapons, and this one bald guy who’s single-handedly winning the match.

Season 3 of Battlefield 6 is bringing some fan-pleasing additions, with two remade maps that will delight fans of Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4. Golmud Railway has been remade as Railway to Golmud, and Grand Bazaar is now Cairo Bazaar, a map that will arrive mid-season. Both of them having been remade in the modern engine and adapted to fit the Pax Armata war and narrative, and both look to feature some fairly splashy destruction.

There’s a fresh batch of weapons to unlock and use, including the L115 bolt action sniper rifle, M16A4 assault rifle, RPK-74M light machine-gun, and the PP-19 submachine-gun. There’s also one or two new character models. Look closely, can you spot them?

Another new game mode is being added to the game, with Obliteration returning from BF4, all based around one team deliveringa  bomb to an objective and then holding that point until it explodes. And if you’re into the REDSEC battle royale mode at all, then maybe you’ll want to try out ranked mode.

Battlefield Studios outlined their plan for 2026 last month, revealing some of the contents from Seasons 3, 4 and 5. July will launch Season 4 and will be going all in on water warfare, adding a remake of Wake Island and the original map Tsuru Reef, both of which will feature aircraft carriers with working flight decks and a new dynamic wave system.

Elsewhere, there’s a lot of features and quality of life improvements, from custom lobbies and spectator mode, server browsers with persistent servers, to the Platoons clan system, proximity chat, and revisions to maps like New Sobek City and Blackwell Fields.

The trick, of course, is to keep spinning out new and compelling content at a rate to keep the playerbase engaged. Battlefield 6 was a home run for EA last year, a modern warfare shooter that evoked some of the vibes of BF4 and BF3 at exactly the right time, going up against the disappointing Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. You can bet, though, that 2026’s Call of Duty will be much stronger, and look to drag back any converts that Battlefield 6 might have managed to grab.
