FromSoftware’s The Duskbloods delayed until 2027
by Stefan L · tsaFromSoftware has announced the delay of their Switch 2 exclusive The Duskbloods, pushing it back from an ever-shrinking 2026 release target to a wide-open 2027.
The studio writes in the announcement:
During the network test in August 2026, we saw active interest in the core concepts of the game, including direct combat, strategic depth, and player expression. To further enhance these aspects of the game and improve the player experience, we have made the decision to move the release window, allowing time for final adjustments to game rules and balancing.
We offer our sincere apologies to players who have been kindly awaiting the release of this title. Your understanding and patience are greatly appreciated.
The Duskbloods is the studio’s latest online multiplayer experiment, in which eight players will challenge for supremacy amidst a world filled with challenging NPC enemies. Players will be competing for First Blood and seek to become Bloodsworn as they battle.
The setting of the game looks to be exploring various vampiric myths to the extent that you might think this was some kind of Castlevania tie in, but it is instead an original property once more. There’s a definite gothic Britain appearance to the game as well, which is sure to lure in Bloodborne fans.
The wait also continues for a new Soulslike from the genre’s leading studio. While there was, of course, the Shadows of the Erdtree expansion, it’s been a good while since the release of Elden Ring in early of 2022. The studio has been pursuing investor-pleasing multiplayer games in the meantime, such as Elden Ring Nightreign, but we kind of hope they get back to what they’re best known for soon.
