Father-son duo killed, four others injured in road accident

Two persons were killed and four others injured when a car in which they were travelling hit a roadside tree at Elakurichi near Mudikondan on Wednesday.

According to sources, M. Selvaraj, 56, president of State Hairstylists Association, of Viyasarpadi in Chennai came to his native Sundakudi in Ariyalur district along with his newly wedded son Vignesh and daughter-in-law Jayalakshmi two days ago. After visiting his daughter’s home at Kadambur, Selvaraj and five of his family members were heading towards Thanjavur to visit a temple in a car.

It is said that Selvaraj, who drove the car, apparently lost control and hit a roadside tree at Elakurichi arch. While he died on the spot Vignesh succumbed to injuries on the way to a hospital in Thanjavur. Malathi, wife of Selvaraj, Jayalakshmi and two others suffered injuries. They were admitted to the Government Medical College Hospital in Ariyalur. 

Thirumanur police haver registered a case and are investigating.
