'Time gets to us all' - Mike Tyson warning clear ahead of Jake Paul Netflix fight
by Kurt Bigg · Manchester Evening NewsThe world is primed for the much-anticipated heavyweight bout between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson set to take place in the early hours of Saturday morning in the UK.
YouTuber Paul is set to go toe-to-toe with two-time heavyweight boxing champion Tyson at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, four months after the pair's original bout was postponed after Tyson suffered an ulcer flare-up in May. While Tyson will arrive in the ring with plenty of boxing pedigree, Paul is 31 years his junior - meaning the bout really could go either way.
And, judging from the last time 'Iron Mike' stepped into the ring, the fight may not quite be as clear-cut as the former boxer's fans would like to believe. Tyson, then 54, took on a 51-year-old Roy Jones Jr in an exhibition fight at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, in November 2020. The two fought to a split draw after eight rounds (79–73, 76–76, 80–76).
Paul also appeared on the undercard, beating former NBA player Nate Robinson by knockout in the second round. However, it was the former heavyweight champion's contest that had people talking.
