Who is Ruben Amorim? Manager linked with Manchester United after Erik ten Hag sacked

by · Manchester Evening News

Sporting Lisbon boss Ruben Amorim is being linked with the vacant manager's job at Manchester United after Erik ten Hag's reign was brought to an end on Monday morning.

United have suffered their worst ever start to a Premier League season having finished eighth last term. The Reds have won just three of their opening nine league games and have a goal difference of -3.

Many fans expected Ten Hag to be relieved of his duties in the summer despite United beating neighbours Manchester City in the FA Cup final. Ten Hag survived Ineos' end-of-season review and yet his position was again under the spotlight during the October international break after a poor start to the season.
