BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell in 'potential betrayal' as fans make demand

by · Manchester Evening News

Fans said they were witnessing a 'potential betrayal' between Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell as they sparked a demand amid training for their next Strictly Come Dancing performance.

There now isn't too much longer to wait until the pair will be seen back in the iconic ballroom after another impressive performance in the BBC One dance contest.

Last weekend comedian Chris and professional dancer Dianne performed a colourful and energetic Salsa to Down Under by Men At Work and afterwards, Dianne gushed that she was never more proud of Chris as she fought back tears before they were awarded 30 points out of a possible 40.

It was then confirmed during Sunday night's results show (October 13) that Chris and Dianne had safely made it through to week five of the BBC One dance contest following the public vote.

They have since been back hard at work in training and it has been revealed that for their next performance on Saturday (October 19), will be performing a Waltz to You’ll Never Walk Alone by Gerry and the Pacemakers, a nod to Chris' home city of Liverpool and his beloved football club.

But as ever, the pair managed to take a time out to update their fans and followers in the latest of their video series - CHRIS’S DIAnneRIES. However, it was less of an update on how they've been getting on and more of a challenge with Chris as Dianne tasked him with trying to work out what was in her bag.

"The reason I've come up with this idea is because I've never seen someone with such an organized bag as Chris," Dianne explained. "[It] put me to shame and I want you to see what is in my bag!"

"Why's it organised? Because I've got bags inside bags?" Chris, 47, asked before Dianne, 36, said: "He's got bags for everything!" Dianne then showed off her hug cavas tote bag and inside, Chris discovered two pairs of dance shoes, hair extensions, a hair brush, the pretend tin whistle used to help them practice their last routine and an open bar of chocolate.

But fans were quick to recall previous videos where Chris got Dianne to guess the different flavoured KitKats he had bought. Finding a bar, Chris asked: "Have you been playing guess the flavour of the KitKat without me?" Dianne laughed as her celebrity dance partner repeated the question. "I promise you I haven't. It's an ordinary KitKat, Chris!" Dianne said. Chris then mocked: "Have you been seeing other people for your KitKat games?"

And the moment had their followers in stitches. @seaaaanx said: "Have you been playing kitkat games without me Di?!!!' The shock of the potential betrayal." @erin.cherry123 wrote: "'Have you been seeing other people for your kitkat games'. I love you two." @claire_hayward added: "Quote of 2024: 'Have you been playing kit kat games without me!!' Honestly, brilliant, also the fact that Dianne is shoving her toothbrush in Chris's nose."

Others, meanwhile, were demanding the videos continue long after Strictly ends - or that they get their own show. @eddo_official said: "Hurry up and have your own show. I could watch you both for HOURS." @kazzaaaaah wrote: "You really do need to do your own show. You're both comedy gold."

@alicia_davies86 commented: "You two are my favourite people ever. Please do your own show." @annelise.grayauthor replied: "If there’s any chance you could keep doing these even after Strictly finishes (and you’ve won, of course) I think we’d all be very grateful." @christianleane added: "May this friendship continue long after strictly ‘24 wraps up. Love these updates."
