Gib vs Slim Misfits Boxing fight results in full as middleweight champion crowned in Qatar
by Shane Ireland · Manchester Evening NewsAnEsonGib emerged victorious against Slim Albaher, clinching the Misfits middleweight champion title in Qatar and putting an end to their dispute.
Slim entered the bout with a seven-fight unbeaten streak, while Gib's only prior defeat was at the hands of Jake Paul nearly five years back. But it was Gib who triumphed after eight rounds in the longest match in Misfits' history.
Although one judge surprisingly scored the fight a draw (76-76), the other two judges saw Gib as the clear winner with scores of 78-74 and 79-73.
Following the victory, Gib remarked: "From meme to the best; I'm the best fighter in influencer boxing. I've taken out three promotions and I'm happy to be the Misfits champion. He was a great opponent, 7-0, good boxing ability and a great team. He made me train hard and it was a great fight."
The undercard also delivered its share of thrills, with all the results tracked below - via the Mirror.
Salt Papi defeated King Kenny with a knockout blow
The confrontation between Salt Papi and King Kenny was fiercely concluded when Papi vanquished Kenny in the second round with a swift KO. Papi dictated the pace from the start and had the upper hand in the initial round.
Then, in less than sixty seconds into the following round, he landed a sharp left hook, sending Kenny sprawling to the mat. Despite appearing capable of continuing, the referee opted to call off the fight.
Deji secured a win over Dawood Savage through technical knockout
A bout that should never have been sanctioned ended in chaos. Deji, making a comeback after an 18-month hiatus, put on a dismal performance against habitual loser Dawood Savage.
Despite knocking Savage down in the third round, it wasn't officially counted as a knockdown. Under some strain, Savage collapsed and cited injury before the match was prematurely concluded.
Jarvis triumphed over Ben Williams via TKO
The fight concluded in a peculiar manner when Ben Williams fell and injured his leg in the third round, requiring assistance to exit the ring. He had begun the match strongly, putting Jarvis under pressure in the initial three minutes.
Jarvis didn't land his final punch; instead, Williams simply fell backwards and claimed he was injured.
Warren Spencer defeated Nichlmao via MD
Stepping in with just two weeks' notice, Spencer emerged victorious following an impressive four-round performance. In what was one of the most thrilling bouts on the card, both fighters had their moments and, as expected, the judges' scorecards were inconsistent.
One judge declared it a draw while the other two favoured Spencer, including one who awarded him all four rounds.
Lil Cracra beat Yuddy Gang TV via UD
In the trilogy fight to decide the victor of the Misfits lightweight tournament, Lil CraCra seemed the more likely to triumph. All three judges scored the bout 49-46, with Yuddy Gang only managing a decent third round as his adversary emerged victorious, setting up a showdown with champion Deen The Great on January 18.
Chase De Moor defeated Kelz via UD
This was arguably one of the poorest bouts in influencer boxing history. Neither competitor threw many punches, but De Moor did just enough to clinch the win.
He claimed the heavyweight title in the process, though it's doubtful he'll be displaying that belt with much pride. Kelz, fighting for only the second time, can bounce back but was overly cautious throughout the six rounds.
Luis Pineda overcame Swarmz via UD
Luis Pineda had a tough time against Swarmz, ultimately settling for a points victory after three rounds. Both men faced KSI on the same night in 2022 and have since carved out careers in influencer boxing.
However, Swarmz failed to find his rhythm and struggled to land a punch on the Mexican. All three judges eventually awarded the win to Pineda.
Amir Anderson beat Neeraj via technical knockout
Amir Anderson made quick work of Neeraj, stopping him in the second round. Neeraj, who had fought 12 times prior to his match with Anderson, was knocked down in the first round but managed to see it through.
However, he didn't last long in the second, with an uppercut initiating the final sequence before the referee intervened.
