Love Island US star Hannah Smith 'charged' after 'threatening to kill' police officer

Love Island star Hannah Smith has reportedly been arrested and charged with making terroristic "threats".

The 26-year-old from Charlotte, North Carolina, was a contestant on the American version of the hit dating show - which films in Fiji - earlier this year. She lasted in the villa for 10 days before getting dumped.

The reality star was reportedly at a concert at the Roxy in Atlanta on 30 September but was apparently removed from the premises at 11:30pm. It is reported that a police officer then attempted to aid the reality star in securing an Uber to take her home when events took a dramatic turn.

It is claimed that Smith turned violent and made threats towards the police officer. It is also claimed that she attempted to punch and kick the police officer. The Mirror has contacted a representative of Smith for comment.

Hannah's arrest warrant reportedly quotes the arresting officer, claiming: "As she was being escorted away from the Orange Deck parking structure and to her Uber she attempted to punch me, with a closed fist, however, she did not make contact with me. While in handcuffs she also attempted to kick me multiple times."

It is then claimed Smith proceeded to make threats against the officer. The warrant continued to claim: "While said accused was being transported to Cobb County Adult Detention Center she stated she was going to kill me and my sister multiple times with the purpose of terrorizing said victim." It is reported that Cobb County Police charged Smith with terroristic threats and wilful obstruction of a law enforcement officer. She was released on an $8,000 bail and has been prohibited from consuming alcohol and taking drugs – other than those she is prescribed. The conditions would be enforced by "random alcohol/drug tests at her own expense," court documents state.

Smith has continued to be active on social media despite the alleged legal issues - and it has been reported she was released on bail following her arrest. On Monday, she shared a provocative image of herself modelling a pink bikini on Instagram - captioning the image with simple pink heart emojis.

Prior to this, she posed in a little black dress for a series of image which she captioned with a string of black heart emojis. While on TikTok she appeared far removed from the alleged legal issues reported about her.

Posing in a grey coloured bodysuit, and with a crucifix necklace around her neck, the Love Islander revealed she was having a dilemma about where to spend her upcoming 27th birthday. Addressing fans, she said: "Hi guys. I need some help, I need some recommendations. I’m trying to plan my birthday. It is coming up and I have no idea where to go. Let me know what you guys think I should do. I definitely want to something tropical. I was considering Cabo or Puerto Rico. It’s leaning more towards Puerto Rico right now, but I really don’t know."
