Jake Paul says he is praying for Anthony Joshua and those who have lost their lives after the boxer was involved in a fatal car crash in Nigeria.

The former heavyweight champion was taken to the hospital due to his injuries from the incident in which two people in the same vehicle died. Joshua looked to be in agony as he was assisted from the crash, with eye-witnesses coming to the aid of those involved. The 36-year-old's promoter Eddie Hearn, who is on holiday in the Caribbean, told Mirror Sport that Joshua was OK and heading to hospital, but could not provide more information beyond that.

Joshua was enjoying time in his parents' homeland of Nigeria. 'AJ' was born in England and won an Olympic gold medal for the United Kingdom but is often seen wearing the Nigerian flag.

The crash occurred along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway around the Sinoma area near Sagamu, Ogun State. Joshua was taken to an unidentified hospital. And the boxer's most recent opponent, Paul has expressed that his thoughts are with those involved in the crash.

"Life is much more important than boxing. I am praying for the lost lives, AJ and anyone impacted by today’s unfortunate accident." he posted on X.

Joshua knocked out Paul earlier this month in Miami, beating him in the sixth round and breaking his jaw in two places. The controversial bout saw the YouTuber-turned-boxer attempt takedowns throughout the fight.
