Deshaun Watson, the quarterback for Cleveland Browns, was comforted by his teammates as he was wheeled off the field in tears, seemingly having ruptured his Achilles.

Watson sustained a non-contact injury, with his Achilles appearing to snap as he tried to run off after completing his dropback. He was in significant pain after being placed on the cart.

Despite numerous reports suggesting that Watson's actions have angered his teammates, many did not display that sentiment when the quarterback was injured. Several offensive linemen spoke to a devastated-looking Watson as he left the field.

The Browns are now likely to be without the controversial quarterback for the remainder of the season Various doctors on social media seemed to confirm that Watson had ruptured his Achilles. The Browns quickly ruled him out for the game and confirmed that he had indeed injured the tendon.

Interestingly, Jameis Winston was put on the inactive list and served as an emergency replacement, with Dorian Thompson-Robinson stepping in for Watson. Winston had lost his position as the back-up to Thompson-Robinson earlier this week, and the two are now likely to compete for the starting job for the rest of the season.

Winston eventually replaced Thompson-Robinson as he struggled in the game. Watson has faced a barrage of criticism this season, with his performance as quarterback leaving much to be desired - he's been making baffling decisions and losing possession of the ball.

As he made his entrance onto Huntington Bank Field during Cleveland's player introductions on Sunday, the 29-year-old was met with a wave of boos from the crowd. In March of 2022, Watson put pen to paper on a whopping five-year, $230 million contract, which is fully guaranteed through the 2026 season.

Over the past three years, Watson has been hit with over 20 different lawsuits accusing him of sexual assault and battery. Despite these serious allegations, no criminal charges have been filed against him, although he did face suspension during the 2022 NFL season.
