Roy Keane reveals next career move with Sky Sports end date in sight and big announcement made

Roy Keane, the legendary former Manchester United captain, has hinted at a future move overseas within the next few years.

The Irishman, who boasts an illustrious playing career predominantly at United under Sir Alex Ferguson, left the club in 2005 and had a brief stint at Celtic before hanging up his boots in 2006. Post-retirement, Keane turned to management with roles at Sunderland and Ipswich Town before transitioning into punditry, where he's become a familiar face on ITV and Sky Sports.

Keane, known for his no-nonsense analysis, shared on The Overlap's recent On Tour episode in Turin that he's considering a relocation. "In the next couple of years, I reckon I will be moving abroad... putting it out there," he told Jamie Carragher, Ian Wright and Gary Neville.

When pressed by Carragher about his potential new home, Keane mentioned: "Do you know what, Switzerland, maybe? Switzerland is beautiful."

This revelation comes after Keane, now 53, expressed back in August his plans to eventually step away from his punditry duties within the next decade. Speaking on the Stick to Football podcast brought to you by Sky Bet, he expressed his feelings about football: "I love football, but the hassle of matches, getting to games, and the hassle of fans – I was in court a few months ago with somebody head-butting me – do you think I enjoy that side of it? Absolutely not."

He continued: "The games are fine. Getting to the games, parking up, people shouting your name – good stuff, bad stuff – it's a nuisance. Being a pundit in 10 years, not."
