IFC Proposes Up To $30 Million For Unloq-Backed Trade Finance Programme

by · Crowdfund Insider

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) is proposing to invest up to $30 million in a $500 million asset-backed securitisation programme to expand supply chain financing for small and medium-sized businesses across Asia Pacific.

According to a project proposal seen by CrowdFund Insider, the investment,  would be made in the senior tranche of a programme issued by GO Global Trade Receivables SF 1.

The trade receivables will be originated by Unloq International Company Limited and managed by Singapore-based Go Asset Management, per the project details.

IFC said the programme will finance suppliers in emerging markets, primarily in South and Southeast Asia, giving businesses access to short-term working capital while they wait for buyers to settle their invoices.

The securities or loans will be backed by a diversified pool of short-term trade receivables, with equity subordination providing a buffer for senior investors.

The programme will have a one-year revolving structure, while IFC’s participation could run for up to five years.

IFC is also expected to help bring other investors into the programme, using its position as an anchor investor to attract private capital.

The structure is intended to provide a model for expanding supply chain finance in emerging markets, where smaller suppliers often struggle to secure affordable working capital.

Around 40% of the amount equivalent to IFC’s proceeds is expected to support sustainable assets in line with the common principles used by multilateral development banks to classify such financing.

The proposed investment could also come with an advisory programme to help Unloq improve risk management, build partnerships and develop artificial intelligence-based financing solutions for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.

Founded in Hong Kong in 2018, Unloq uses a proprietary technology platform to manage trade receivables for suppliers and corporate buyers.

It is wholly owned by Linklogis Inc, which is listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

As of June 30, 2026, Tencent Holdings held a 16.01% equity stake in Linklogis, while CITIC Capital Holdings owned 10.60%. Linklogis Chairman and Chief Executive Song Qun held 13.45% of the shares and 57.87% of voting rights.

Go Asset Management, the programme manager, is regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore.

IFC also plans to support impact reporting and share practices in SME engagement, alternative-data use and credit assessment to help Unloq expand its financing model.
