On April 27, 2026, Digital Bros issued a press release stating that it had entered into the agreement with Chinese developer Chengdu Lingze Technology to acquire the IP of Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. This deal is for a total amount of RMB 32 million, approximately 4 million euros according to the press release, or $4.6 million USD.

The transaction gives Digital Bros full ownership of the IP and enables “full retention of the value generated throughout its lifecycle and eliminating any future royalty obligations to the developer.” The press release notes that the game managed to hit over 130,000 concurrent players on Steam and sold over 1 million units.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers received positive reviews, with Shacknews Senior News Editor TJ Denzer scoring it 8 out of 10. “Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is a Soulslike game that takes us to a fictional ancient China based on folklore and mythology,” TJ wrote. “But it also puts some spins on the formula that make this an interesting action-RPG in its own right.”
