Monster Hunters Wilds is in development for Nintendo Switch 2

As part of Friday's briefing on the upcoming Ascendance expansion, Monster Hunter Wilds' lead developers confirmed a Switch 2 version is in the works.

As part of Friday's Summer Game Fest showcase, Capcom announced that a massive expansion for Monster Hunter Wilds is on the horizon. Monster Hunter Wilds: Asendance is set to release sometime next year on the game's existing platforms. However, the base game is also set to come to one more platform. As part of special video message, viewers learned that Monster Hunter Wilds would soon come to Nintendo Switch 2.

"We'd like to make one last announcement for Monster Hunter Wilds," Monster Hunter Wilds Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto said during Friday's Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance Developer Message presentation. "Development is currently underway for a Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game. We will announce more official information, such as a release date, at a later time."

Friday's Developer Message comes in the middle of a busy day for the Monster Hunter series, as well as Capcom as a whole. The publisher announced the upcoming Ascendance expansion to release sometime next year. Capcom also announced the Resident Evil Code: Veronica remake and the Street Fighter 6: Year 4 roster that includes Final Fantasy 7's Tifa Lockhart.
