Google has announced the Googlebook, a new AI-powered laptop that integrates Gemini into its OS, which is built on Android technology. Google has outlined multiple AI features that’ll be built into the laptops, and says it has multiple manufacturing partners on board.

Google shared the announcement of the Googlebook with a press release and video. One of the signature features showcased in the reveal is Magic Pointer. By wiggling the mouse, owners can use the cursor to ask Gemini questions about images and text displayed on screen. In one example, we see a user click on a band logo and a picture of the band performing on stage. Google Gemini then used the images to AI generate a band poster.

Google also says that users will be able to create custom widgets based on prompts. The trailer shows a Googlebook being used to plan a family reunion. The Googlebook will also have synergy with Android devices, allowing users to access Google Play apps from the laptop.

Google has named Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, and Lenovo as partners on the Googlebook. Googlebooks will come in various sizes and colors, but will all feature a “glowbar” on its exterior. The first Googlebook laptops are set to launch this fall.
