How to complete Battening Down in ARC Raiders

Battening Down in ARC Raiders is one of the early quests unlocked as part of the Riven Tides update. Here's how to complete it.

The Battening Down quest came with the Riven Tides update in ARC Raiders, and it's yet another instance of “run around a lot a search for small quest markers.” It isn’t hard, per se, but can be frustrating if you don’t know where to look. We’ll show you where all the objectives are today.

How to complete the Battening Down quest in ARC Raiders

To complete Battening Down, you need to find and interact with three specific locations on Riven Tides, all along the northern beach. There’s no particular order or “do all in one raid” requirements, but which you do first will depend on whether you spawn on the east or western edges of the map.

Where to find the gaps in the seawall

The gaps are about 150 meters north of the Stacking Yard. Look to the west of the large hole in the wall and head to the end of the strut that extends toward the empty seabed.

All you need to do is approach the end of the strut and interact with the prompt there to take the picture.

Where to sample the shoreline near the hotel beach

The sample you’re looking for is actually a large patch of dried seaweed on the Azzurro Beach north of the hotel.

The seaweed in question is about 70 meters northeast of the Azzurro Beach map marker at the southeastern edge of the smaller body of water. Approach the larger mat of seaweed and interact with it to complete this step.

Where to fix the leaking oil pipe in the northeast

To complete this step, head to the far northeastern section of the map — specifically, the long oil pipeline leading away from the map and into the sea. You’re looking for the rainbow-colored oil slick coming out of the left side of the pipe.

As with the other steps to Battening Down, interact with the circular quest marker near the oil slick to complete it.

You’ll complete the quest whenever you finish interacting with the third objective, in whatever order that takes. If you start on the west side of the map, you’ll want to start with the shoreline and make your way toward the oil pipe. Those arriving in the east should do the opposite.

The biggest hurdle to completing Battening Down is how exposed you are as you complete each step. Raiders atop the Hotel or the Stacking Yard cranes will have full vision of you and your team, and it’s unlikely they’ll give you more than a few seconds of grace before opening fire.
