This man and his dog are stealing the show at Combo Breaker 2026
Meet IGottaJet and Kintaro. You might have seen them throughout this year's Combo Breaker event.
by Ozzie Mejia · ShacknewsCombo Breaker 2026 is taking place this weekend, in which the best players in the fighting game community compete for supremacy across many of their respective titles. The competition is only getting started on the Tekken 8 side, but hearts have already been melted thanks to the combination of a man and his dog.
This is Jamie "IGottaJet" Drake and his loyal furry companion, Kintaro. They've been turning heads at Combo Breaker throughout Day 1 of this event. Drake has been taking part in Tekken 8 pools with Kintaro sitting (completely well-behaved) inside his backpack. Unfortunately for Drake, he finished 3-2 and is already out of the competition, having lost to HungryPeruvian and Tibetano. However, he's the winner in all our hearts thanks to the wholesome friendship that he and Kintaro have put on display. Tibetano even fist-bumped the little doggo after eliminating his owner from the competition. Of course, that's not the end of this heartwarming story, as IGottaJet (and Kintaro) have been doing some coaching on the side.
Drake and Kintaro have become one of the more beloved duos in competitive Tekken. The two have been attending fighting game tournaments for more than a year, dating back to Texas Showdown 2025. In fact, then-director Katushiro Harada took notice of the friendly doggo and vowed to look into a customization item.
We'll have much more to say about Combo Breaker 2026 throughout the weekend, including all of the news from the biggest titles at the tournament. But, we thought it would be nice to start this competitive weekend off on a bit of an adorable note.
