Where to find Munitions Crates in Marathon
Munitions Crates can be one of the most frustrating containers to find in Marathon. Here are some of the best places to look.
by John Schutt · ShacknewsWhether it’s for a contract or because you desperately need more ammo, knowing where to find Munitions Crates in Marathon can save you a lot of headache. They’re not the easiest containers to find, and somehow that’s especially true when you need them most. Here’s where to look.
Where to find Munitions Crates in Marathon
Munitions Crates have static spawns on each map, but their appearance is randomized. In other words, you won’t always find them at those static spawns, even if you know where they are.
Some crates also share their spawn location with Medical Cabinets. If the Cabinet has been the chosen spawn instead, the Munitions Crate won’t be there at all either, forcing you to look elsewhere.
Here are the best places to look for Munitions Crates:
Permeter
In a small outbuilding on the northern edge of the Overflow zone. It’s in the northeastern corner of the building on top of a box.
A Medical Cabinet can spawn near the northwestern door and overrides the Crate if it’s there.
There's another possible Munitions Crate spawn on the north side of the Mite-infested building between Overflow and South Relay, nearest the smaller Columns point of interest.
This spawn can also be a Medical Cabinet, so come expecting disappointment.
Dire Marsh
On the upper floor of a large red building south of Canals, just before you start the westward trek across the catwalks toward Maintenance. This one isn’t a shared spawn, so the Munitions Crate might not be there at all.
You might also find a Munitions Crate on the second floor of the westernmost building of Intersection between Greenhouse and Quarantine. This Crate was particularly rare, as I only found it once out of four runs. Still always worth checking, though.
Outpost
I don’t really recommend hunting for Munitions Crates on Outpost, though if you must, you can find one in one of the buildings in the cargo yard between Flight Control and the overhanging Drone Wing.
As with anything in Marathon, finding Munitions Crates is either easy or desk-smashingly tedious. So long as you check the above locations every run, you’ll do fine.
