Marvel Rivals Season 8 will add Devil Dinosaur and Cyclops

The Sins of Alchemax chapter will bring together the leader of the X-Men and the delightful tandem of a girl and her dinosaur.

The latest turn in the ongoing story of Marvel Rivals involves the futuristic corporation known as Alchemax. To comic fans, Alchemax is at the center of the 2099 universe, but it has been developing into a mega corporation in the early part of the modern day Marvel Universe. As part of the Season 8 trailer, Alchemax has captured X-Men leader Cyclops and super-genius prodigy Moon Girl. The latter's capture has attracted the attention of her pet and Rlvals' next playable character, Devil Dinosaur.

Devil Dinosaur is a new Vanguard character and he's exactly what he sounds like. He's a massive dinosaur, one of the largest playable characters to date. He can use brute force to plow through stages and inflict a bleeding status effect on opponents. Some of his moves are also enhanced by some of the inventions of Moon Girl, such as his force-field shield that protects against incoming attacks. Moon Girl will communicate with Devil throughout the fight. The Marvel Rivals team appear to be fans of the recently concluded Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur animated series on The Disney Channel, because the two characters' roles in the game will be reprised by Diamond White and Fred Tatasciore, respectively. Look for Devil Dinosaur to join the roster this Friday, May 15.

Devil Dinosaur is just a one addition that players can expect for Season 8. After a few weeks, players can dive into a new free-for-all Doom Match map, Alchemax Headquarters. This will be the second free-for-all map to join the rotation after Doctor Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum. More details on the new map are coming soon, including some of the sites where Cyclops and Moon Girl are being held captive by Alchemax. Alchemax Headquarters will be added via the upcoming May 28 update.

Speaking of Cyclops, he'll be available later in the season. Expect to learn more about him in the weeks ahead, likely closer to the midway point of Season 8.

There's much more to come in Marvel Rivals throughout the year.
