Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls was featured at a San Diego Comic-Con panel ahead of its release in a couple of weeks. During the presentation, developer Arc System Works announced that the game will receive its first DLC character this fall. It’ll be Phoenix Cyclops, a version of the character that originates from the Avengers vs. X-Men series.

A new trailer revealed Phoenix Cyclops for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls. He’ll be the first fighter added as part of the game’s Year 1 content. He’s being voiced by Ray Chase, who also plays the character in X-Men '97, Marvel Rivals, and Marvel Cosmic Invasion.

More details were posted to the PlayStation Blog, including the origins of the character. Phoenix Cyclops was a member of the Phoenix Five, gaining the power of the Phoenix during the Avengers vs. X-Men run of comics. In addition to his optical blasts, Phoenix Cyclops will use abilities granted to him by the Phoenix Force.

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls launches on August 6, 2026, for PS5 and PC. An open beta is being held this weekend (July 24-26) on both platforms.
