Soulframe Open Preludes launches next week
Players will no longer need invitations to dive into Soulframe's alpha playtests starting next week.
by Ozzie Mejia · ShacknewsSoulframe, to this point, has been open to a small number of players, but that's about to change. On Friday, Digital Extremes announced that it's about to open the door to Soulframe's alpha playtest to all players. Soulframe Open Preludes is officially set to kick off next Friday.
Announced during Friday's live devstream, Soulframe Open Preludes essentially means that anybody is welcome to join the Soulframe alpha playtest. Interested players will no longer have to wait for an invitation from the team to dive in. They only need to sign up for an account on the Soulframe website and download the proprietary launcher.
Even in an alpha state, newcomers will have a lot to discover in Soulframe. They'll be able to catch up with the game's 16 Preludes chapters, which will bring them up to speed on the lore, the characters, the world, and how gameplay functions. Story-driven quests called Fables will focus on the story, but there will also be several other features, like crafting and character customization. All of this will set up Preludes 17, which is expected to launch later in November. Titled Verse of the Veilands, the next Preludes chapter will feature an environmental world progression system, as well as the long-awaited addition of mounts.
Soulframe Open Preludes will open up to all players on Friday, November 6. For more, check out the latest Soulframe patch notes, as well as Shacknews' ongoing Soulframe coverage.
