The mystery character taking up the fifth spot of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves’ latest season was revealed at EVO Japan 2026. It’s Art of Fighting’s mysterious Mr. Karate. 'Who is Mr. Karate?' you might ask. Well, it could be the original, Takuma Sakazaki. Maybe Ryo Sakazaki took up the role? Well, if the ponytail, coin, tiger motif, kicks, and general savoir faire of the character are anything to go by, it’s probably Ryo’s rival, Robert Garcia, under the mask.

At the very least, this Mr Karate looks like they’re playing like Robert. The trailer gave us a good look at his style and aesthetic, and he has all the indicators of Robert. In my opinion, that’s a good pick because we already had Marco Rodriguez in the game and he plays like Ryo and Takuma already. Robert uses Kyokugen Karate as well, but he focuses on kicks and has a few different specialties in his moves as a result.

Rober- Sorry, “Mr. Karate” comes out in the back middle of May if previous releases and the monthly schedule SNK has been on are any indication. Mr. Karate is the fifth character in a six character season, and the last remaining mystery character. We know full well at this point that Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star is coming to round out Season 2.

Still, Mr. Karate in this form is a fun surprise. We’ll look forward to seeing him launch sometime in May. Stay tuned to the Fatal Fury topic for more news and coverage.
