High Albedo PvE and PvP god rolls and how to get - Destiny 2
The High Albedo Sidearm can add some serious firepower to any loadout, so long as you have the right god rolls. Here are our picks.
by John Schutt · ShacknewsThe High Albedo is one of dozens of reprised weapons from Destiny 2’s past that got new life with the Monument of Triumph update. Landing either the PvP or PvE god rolls can be tough, as getting your hands on the weapon is oddly tricky, and while it’s not hard, it can still be time-consuming.
How to get the High Albedo in Destiny 2
The High Albedo Sidearm is unique to Europa and can only drop from sources on that planet. There are several sources of the weapon. The first and best is completing a High Albedo Weapon Quest from Variks.
He’ll assign you a pair of simple tasks, like “defeat X number of enemies with Sidearms” or “complete X Patrols, Public Events, etc.” Completing these will progress to the second and final step, which sends you back to Variks to claim your reward: a randomly rolled High Albedo.
If you don’t want a more active grind that can provide other Europa weapons, you can also get them as drops from Public Event chests, high-value target chests, and other reward sources across Europa. You aren’t guaranteed a High Albedo, but farming more generally does seem to reward higher-tier gear than the Weapon Quests.
High Albedo PvE god roll
The reprised version of the High Albedo is geared much more toward PvE than PvP, and thus can roll with some of the best PvE perks in the game. As a micro missile frame, the High Albedo isn’t necessarily geared toward dealing huge damage, but makes for good supplemental DPS with the right setup.
| High Albedo god roll - PvE | |
|---|---|
| Launcher Barrel | Volatile Launch (+15 Blast Radius- 10 Handling, -5 Velocity) |
| Magazine | Tactical Mag (+3 Magazine, +5 Stability, +10 Reload Speed) |
| Perk 1 | Auto-Loading Holster (This weapon reloads automatically after a short time in your holster.) |
| Perk 2 | Kinetic Tremors (Dealing sustained kinetic damage causes targets to emit a shockwave that damages nearby targets.) |
| Origin Trait | Winterized Gear (After being out of combat for a moderate amount of time, this weapon gains additional stability, reload speed, and handline. These benefits begin to decay when it enters combat again.) |
| Masterwork | Velocity (+10 Velocity when maxed out.) |
| Mod | Backup Mag (Up to +5 additional rounds in the magazine when Enhanced.) |
Our god roll is focused primarily on ensuring you can use the High Albedo as often and as effectively as possible. Its status as a Kinetic weapon limits its possible synergies, but also makes it a jack-of-all-trades option for PvE grinding.
High Albedo PvP god roll
Sadly, the High Albedo is lacking almost any solid PvP roll options. This is partly due to its perk selection, and partly because micro missile Sidearms aren’t really built for the Crucible in the first place. Still, you can probably get along with the roll below:
| High Albedo god roll - PvP | |
|---|---|
| Barrel | Quick Launch (+10 Velocity, +15 Handling) |
| Magazine | High-Explosive Ordnance (+5 Velocity, +10 Blast Radius, slightly reduced magazine size.) |
| Perk 1 | Impulse Amplifier (Massively increases projectile velocity, substantially increases reload speed.) |
| Perk 2 | All-Star (Collecting ammo loads this weapon from reserves and increases damage and reload speed. Collecting heavy ammo grants more time.) |
| Origin Trait | Roar of Battle (Being in combat for a short duration increases handling and stability.) |
| Masterwork | Velocity (+10 Velocity when maxed out.) |
| Mod | Blast Radius (Up to +10 additional blast radius stat when Enhanced.) |
Not the most inspirational god roll, I know, but you should only be taking the High Albedo into PvP as a meme, when you want to handicap yourself, or because you love how its weapon archetype feels to use.
