Season 3 of Battlefield 6 is bringing a lot of community demands to reality, offering the game’s biggest map yet, a host of quality of life and series-standard features, and, of course, a host of new weapons. Three of the BF6 Season 3 weapons arrive at launch, and one more comes mid-season. Here’s the full list.

The new weapons in Battlefield 3 Season 3 canvas four of the game’s most popular weapon classes, and they are:

  • M16A4 Assault Rifle - available at launch
  • RPK-74M LMG - available at launch
  • L115 Sniper Rifle - available at launch
  • PP-19 SMG - available in-season

The M16A4 assault rifle is probably the hardest-hitting in the group. In Battlefield 3, the M16, available exclusively on a med bag-wielding Assault, was the meta-defining weapon of the game for almost its entire life cycle. Even after multiple significant nerfs months after launch, it was still a beast of a gun.

The A4 variant of the M16 has historically been a burst-fire only weapon in games, but comes to BF6 with full-auto capabilities. It remains to be seen exactly how strong it stacks up to the Kord, M4A1 Carbine, and the other top-tier weapons in modern Battlefield.

The RPK-74M LMG is another strong contender I first toyed around with in BF3, unique as it was then to the Support class. It was never the best option in almost any situation, but it was never one that would let you down. With the BF6 version boasting a higher fire rate than the RPKM in the game, it could be a force to be reckoned with.

Rounding out the launch roster is the L115 Sniper Rifle, and I’ll never claim authority over snipers in BF6 in any game save Bad Company 2. That said, if it’s competitive with the Mini Scout for the best sniper rifle, it’s gonna be a monster.

SMGs in BF6 are a strange lot, and will become even more so with Season 3’s Golmud Railway map, where up-close engagements are much less frequent. And the PP-19 is a relatively infrequent resident of the Battlefield series, so I hope it’s competitive with the likes of the SGX and Vector.
