by Asif Khan · ShacknewsThe Legend of Zelda movie is now set to release a week earlier than previously scheduled. Fans of the Zelda franchise can know set their calendars for an April 30, 2027 release date. Nintendo legend Shigeru Miyamoto made the announcement on Twitter.
Here's the English translation of Miyamoto's statement:
This is Miyamoto. I would like to let you know that the worldwide theatrical release date for the live-action film of The Legend of Zelda has been moved up to April 30, 2027, from May 7. The team is working hard to deliver the film to everyone as soon as possible. There’s less than a year to go until release, so thank you for waiting.
The Legend of Zelda movie's original release date was March 26, 2027, but then slipped to May 7, 2027 so today's updated date is still later than the initially expected date for Hyrule's big screen debut.
The movie wrapped filming last month, so it appears that we might begin to see the Nintendo hype machine kick into full gear relatively soon.
