Activision is fresh off the reveal of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, which is slated to arrive later this year for PC and the modern generation of consoles. It won’t be released on the PS4 and Xbox One, making it the first CoD to skip those consoles since they were released. Now, Activision has announced that it will also end support for Call of Duty: Warzone on the last generation of consoles later this year.

A new support page revealed Activision’s plans to end support for Call of Duty: Warzone. “Starting June 4, we will begin reducing the services offered for Call of Duty: Warzone on PlayStation 4 and XBOX One, with support for the game on these platforms coming to an end later this year.”

It looks like the ending of support for Warzone on PS4/Xbox One will coincide with the start of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Season 1, which will integrate the game into the Warzone ecosystem. Modern Warfare 4 will not be available on the last-gen consoles.

Modern Warfare 4 will, however, launch on modern consoles. This includes Switch 2, making it the first Call of Duty to be released on a Nintendo console this decade. Read up on all the MW4 news right here on Shacknews.
