Onimusha: Way of the Sword gets new demo today

Get a taste of the next Onimusha today before it releases in September.

Capcom made an appearance during Tuesday's PlayStation State of Play presentation with an update on the upcoming Onimusha: Way of the Sword. The game's release date is around the corner, but for those who want to get a look at it sooner, there's a new demo that's available.

"In today’s State of Play, we announced its latest sword-fighting action game, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, will be released on PlayStation 5 on September 25, 2026," reads the post on PlayStation.Blog. "Alongside that, we also announced a PS5 demo, which will be available today. Play it for yourself and experience the first few stages of Musashi’s path for strength and knowledge."

The Onimusha demo will contain roughly 30 minutes from the early portion of the game. This will give players a chance to get used to some of the new mechanics, like the Reflex Combo system, Oni Strength ability, and Oni Agility movement mechanics. It should be noted that save data from the demo will not carry over to the game's full version.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword is set to release on September 25, 2026. The demo will be available later today on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox Series X|S.
