Metly Blood: Twi-Lumina announced for early 2027

Revealed at EVO Japan 2026, Twi-Lumina is a follow-up to Melty Blood: Type Lumina that will refine the battle mechanics and bring new characters next year.

As the dust on EVO Japan 2026’s Melty Blood: Type Lumina tournament settled, French Bread came ready to show the next big thing in the series. Melty Blood: Twi-Lumina has been announced and will be coming in early 2027.

French Bread gave fans a teaser of Melty Blood: Twi-Lumina alongside the Melty Blood: Type Lumina tournament at EVO Japan 2026. When the game launches next year, it will come out on PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The game isn’t entirely described as a sequel so much as an “updated” version of Type Lumina. Nonetheless, it will feature refined and reworked battle mechanics and new characters.

Melty Blood is a bit of a longtime legend in the FGC on the side of anime fighters. French Bread brought new life to the series with Type Lumina and has been keeping Melty Blood in fighting game conversations since it launched in 2021.
