Project You for Girls Launches ‘F.Y.T. Challenge’

When your average teenage girl thinks of hobbies, what comes to mind are the more well known ones: singing, dancing, acting, drawing, etc. What girls don’t realize is that there are thousands of skills to learn and hobbies to start. They just don’t always have the tools, resources, or time to find them.

I remember when I was in 9th grade talking to a classmate, and she said, “There’s nothing I’m good at.” I remember 14-year-old me arguing with her that that wasn’t true. Similar scenarios happened over the years, with classmates, campers, students, and coworkers. It always bothered me that people genuinely believed that about themselves.

When your average teenage girl thinks of hobbies, what comes to mind are the more well known ones: singing, dancing, acting, drawing, etc. What girls don’t realize is that there are thousands of skills to learn and hobbies to start. They just don’t always have the tools, resources, or time to find them. That’s where Project You comes in.

The Rebbe stressed many times that everyone has talents and that we MUST use them. He encouraged people to pursue what they are good at, even recommending that someone leave a job if it wasn’t a financial strain and go do something they excel at.

As the Rebbe said:
“Each individual has a special capacity and a particular talent, and it is their privilege and duty to utilize it to its fullest.” That’s our tagline.

We’ve seen firsthand how much happier and fulfilled girls can be when they have something that is their own. And we’re not in this alone. There are tons of statistics showing the benefits of having and actively working on a hobby.

We’re so excited to launch the F.Y.T. Challenge – Find Your Thing!

A guided 3-week challenge to help you find what you’re good at, explore new interests, and get the tips and tools you need to get started and stick with it. All designed to fit with school schedules and accommodate filters!
