Lubavitch Manchester held two vibrant Menorah lighting events to celebrate the festival of Chanukah, bringing the community together with music, joy, and tradition.

Both events were organised by Soroh Smith with the help of Sruli Rosthein.

On Sunday 14th December a grand menorah lighting was held with over 500 people at Manchester City Centre in the Presence of the Lord Mayor and the Vice Chair of the Representative Council, chaired by Mr Phaivish Pink.

Rabbi Walker, head of Heaton Park Shul, addressed the crowd with words of inspiration and Rabbi Shmuli Lent led recitation of tehillim for all those in hospital after the Bondi Beach massacre in Sydney.

Highlights included Rabbi Dov Ber Klyne leading the 12 Pesukim with children and an engaging musical performance by Michoel Sholom. Doughnuts and prizes for children added sweetness and excitement to the occasion.

On Motzei Shabbos, 20th December, an event with over 1000 people attending, took place at Halfway House, featuring fireworks, live music, doughnuts, and a prize for every child. The lively celebration created a warm and festive atmosphere for all attendees.

Together these memorable events highlighted the message of Chanukah—spreading, hope, light and unity within the community.
