MetMalaysia: Haze expected to persist across Sarawak tomorrow, with thunderstorms in several areas
by Aliah Abdullah · Borneo Post OnlineKUCHING (Aug 28): Haze is expected to persist across all divisions in Sarawak tomorrow (Aug 29), with isolated thunderstorms and rain forecast in several areas, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).
The department’s weather forecast said haze is expected statewide in the morning, affecting Sri Aman, Betong, Bintulu, Kapit, Kuching, Miri, Mukah, Samarahan, Sarikei, Serian, Sibu and Limbang.
In the afternoon, thunderstorms are forecast in a few places in Kuching, Kapit, Miri and Limbang, while haze is expected to continue in Sri Aman, Betong, Bintulu, Mukah, Samarahan, Sarikei, Serian and Sibu.
At night, rain is expected in a few places in Kuching, Kapit, Miri and Limbang, while haze is forecast to persist in the remaining divisions.
“Temperatures statewide are expected to range between 24 and 35 degrees Celsius,” MetMalaysia forecasted.
For coastal Sarawak waters, winds over the western part of the state are forecast to blow from the west-southwest at 10 to 20km/h, with wave heights ranging from 0.5 to 1.0 metres.
Northern Sarawak waters are expected to experience west-northwesterly winds at 10 to 20km/h, with wave heights also ranging from 0.5 to 1.0 metres.
