99 dogs vaccinated during anti-rabies programme in Sibu

SIBU (Oct 20): A total of 99 dogs were vaccinated at a free anti-rabies vaccination programme, held at the carpark of University of Technology Sarawak (UTS)’s Dewan Canselor Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud here yesterday.

The initiative was jointly organised by the Sibu Division Chinese Community Leaders Association, in collaboration with the Department of Veterinary Services (DVS) Sibu.

“From the total, 72 canines received their first dose while 27 were given booster doses.

“The canines brought to the event belonged to 54 pet owners,” according to DVS Sibu’s Anti- Rabies Vaccination Report 2024.

The same report said that no dogs were microchipped during the vaccination programme, which ran from 9am until 2pm.
