SIBU (Sept 29): Sarawak Chinese Cultural Association is all appreciative of the public support that it has received over the years.

According to its chairman Albert Lau, such encouragement has helped the association in moving forward towards making contributions to the community.

He said this at the opening of the association’s new building at Salim Road yesterday, where Datuk Tiong Thai King officiated at the event.

In his remarks, Tiong said the public support shown during the construction of the new building also reflected the same strong support for the association’s mission and work.

“Because of the full support from the community, we should fully commit to our work. A building consists of spaces that are to be utilised for certain purposes; thus, we should make full use of our building.”

Adding on, Lau thanked the association’s past leaders for their contributions, as well as ‘all our friends for steadfastly standing behind us in giving their fullest support’.

Sarawak Chinese Cultural Association was set up in 1990, tasked with collecting and publishing information and materials regarding the research and development of Chinese culture in Sarawak.
